March 2020

Dear Friends,

Did you ever wonder what it would be like to try and not miss church on Sunday morning?  Is there anything in your daily life that takes 30 to 45 minutes that you do every day?  We know that today’s life styles are very busy, and between work, family and just taking time for your self are all very important.

The worship service at Zion lasts approximately 30 to 45 minutes.  The average week has 10,080 minutes.  It doesn’t seem like much when you put it in that text, does it?

Our lay pastor is very passionate about trying to fill the pews at Zion as are all pastors.  We, as board members, feel like we should do our part in trying to do just that.  We are sending this letter to every member at Zion.  If you are someone that hardly ever misses a Sunday, we love seeing you.  If you are someone who doesn’t want to give up 30 to 45 minutes every Sunday morning but come when you can, we want to say we miss you when you are not there.  One is no more important than the other except the ones that come most often, we get to shake their hand, ask them how they are doing, how their week is going, and just say “I love you”.  The church is not just a building.  The church is the people inside the building.

We are not sending this letter to offend anyone.  We are sending this letter to say we miss you.  That’s what family does and here at Zion we consider everyone as part of our family.   We would also like to reach out to anyone that is not a member and invite them to attend our service.  Maybe you know someone that just needs to be told how much they matter,  maybe just needs a hug or someone that when you look at them and they look back, they know you are glad they are here.

We are now serving coffee every Sunday after church.  It’s amazing how sometimes when you sit down with a group of friends over a cup of coffee can make you feel!

Hopefully, you can find time to join us!

Sincerely,
